Levi is the second Tarnished Saint to return home and as he has just been released from prison he has earned the title. After loosing his restaurant and going to jail Levi has lost his passion for the most important thing in his life, cooking. Feeling depressed and not good about himself he is on the road to self destruction. Tricked into getting back on the right track and changing the towns opinion of him, Levi becomes the mayor. Putting minimal effort into his new job Levi struggles with his new appointment. Small town antics, county fairs and town council meetings have Levi at wits end. IF things couldn't go any worse, the past as come calling and it brought a couple of young friends. Candy Kane is on vacation and is speechless when she see the man she never thought to see again. The sparks fly and the heat is still there but Levi self esteem and Candis secret are going to be a problem. Trying to prove he is good enough to himself to deserve happiness is a very entertaining tale. This was another great story with awesome characters and an entertaining storyline. I love the first 2 books and would love to continue the series. However, circumstances prevent that happening for some time. When my situation changes, I will pick up where I left off.
With his past and present steamrolling him along, Levi doesn't have a choice other than to face his future. Levi finds himself facing an old love, children he didn't know he fathered and the brother who helped to send him to prison. Can his life take a turn for the better? Levi learns he has to face his problems, forgive and move forward. Levi is definitely as stubborn as the Taylor brothers are proving to be.
I love this series. I found the family of sons to be not only what some might call hunks, but they also have minds which most romance novels do not have. I congratulate Ms.Rose on a great job. The story plots were believable and I think how she weaves them all into one huge family is brilliant. I would recommend this series to anyone looking to read an in-depth series. Great Job!!!!
Ok...I read Doubting Thomas this morning, and really liked it. So I bought Luring Levi, book 2 in the series. I liked Levi's character in Doubting Thomas, but I totally fell for him in this book. It is full of surprises of all sorts. Candy and Levi make a great couple. This book picks up where book 1 ended. I loved it and would recommend it. I am looking forward to reading more of this series from Elizabeth Rose soon.
Luring Levi by Elizabeth Rose is the second in her Tarnished Saints series.
Levi, the hero, is definitely a tarnished saint. Just out of prison for tax evasion (not his fault, really) he's returned to his home town to get his life back on track. Tricked into being mayor, he struggles with his inner demons at the same time he finds himself falling in love with the single mother of twins, as well as dealing with a small town full of "interesting" characters, coordinating the local fair, and participating in a TV cooking show competition. Having lived in a small midwest town, I found myself laughing out loud at some of the antics of those "interesting" characters.
If you like small town romance ala Mayberry with a dash of spice, check out LURING LEVI, and pick up DOUBTING THOMAS, the first in the Tarnished Saints series.
Levi Taylor was back in Sweet Water after having served his time in prison for tax evasion. With no job, no money and living in a storage room he was really depressed. Big brother Thomas and his wife, Angel, tried to help him. They got him elected Mayor of Sweet Water. It was a non paying job but at least he was kept busy. The big fair was only a week away and the town needed the revenue. A food critic from a TV show was coming to be a judge for the food entries. Levi was supposed to help her since he had been an executive chef. Imagine his surprise when he went to pick up the food critic and it turned out to be Candace Kane and her 6 year old twins, Valentine and Vance. Candace was Levi' s last fling before he went to prison. Angel went to help settle her into the cabin she rented and noticed the resemblance between Vance and Levi. Levi talked Candace into trying to get TV coverage for a live cooking show at the fair. Will Candace get live coverage of a cooking show at the fair? Will Levi be able to help Margery's Diner from closing? How will Vance and Valentine feel when they find out their father is Levi? Will Levi ever be able to tell Candace that he loves her and wants to marry her? For the answer to these questions read Luring Levi written by the author Elizabeth Rose.
I really liked this story, it had humor, warmth and steamy sex!
Levi seems to be in the wrong place at the right time, so to speak. His brother Judas beds his accountant and ends up sending Levi to jail, got tax evasion. He takes Angel to a city council meeting and winds up being Mayor. He picks up a woman at the train station and it's the las woman he was with but made an impact on his life. His job as Mayor is a non-paying job, so no money there. His brother has kicked him out of the house so he is living in the spare room over Gus' garage.
Candace has come to Sweet Water with her two children on vacation. When Levi picks her up at the train station she can't believe it. She has a major secret to tell Levi but can never find the right time to tell him. When Levi gets her to agree to have her TV station to film a show called "Sliced" for the fair, she hopes to find a way to tell her secret. While they have managed to get together a few times, Levi believes she wants to call it quits on their relationship. Between helping Margorie with her diner and getting ready to cook for Sliced, Levi seems to be avoiding Candace. Out of the mouths of babes the truth shall reveal itself. A very good read and can't wait to read the next book in the series.
